About the Book

This book contains Pamela's personal story of the deepest crisis she ever experienced in her life. Successful as a writer and spiritual therapist, she was confronted first with illness, then with insomnia and fear, and ultimately with depression and psychosis. She had to be hospitalized and undergo psychiatric treatment. Pamela openly describes what she went through and also seeks to come to terms with what happened to her from a spiritual perspective. What do depression and psychosis mean from the perspective of the soul? How do they arise and can they bear fruit? What is the role of psychiatry in a dark night of the soul?

The second part of the book contains a series of channeled messages about the meaning of severe crises in our lives, the need to face our own darkness, and the unfailing presence of love and compassion in our lives.

Essay by Gerrit: Soul and Personality

Concepts like "soul", "ego", "personality", "the inner child", and "consciousness" are often used in esoteric writings. They all are an important part of what constitutes our humanity. But how do they relate to each other, and what do they mean for us in our everyday life?

Traditional psychology offers a variety of models of the human personality. What's usually missing is the spiritual perspective. In my view, at the core of the spiritual perspective is the idea that we as human beings are, in part, independent of time and space, and that this part is crucial for a proper understanding of who we are. I refer to this part as the soul.

Not only do we have a soul, which exists beyond time and space, this soul manifests itself inside time and space in much more than a single human life: we all have many lives. I believe the concept of reincarnation is central to the spiritual perspective as well.

In this article, I propose a psychological model of the human being from a spiritual perspective and this model is based on my experience as a hypnotherapist and my spiritual insight as it has evolved over the years. I will discuss each of the concepts mentioned above and describe what I feel are their defining characteristics.

Pamela channels Mary Magdalene: Experiencing the Buddha Energy

A channeled message, received in Taiwan, about being present in the quiet center of your abdomen.

"I would like to speak today about the importance of descending into your abdomen and becoming really present on that level. It is a tragic fact that many women do not feel at home within their own abdomen, which, in bodily terms, is the seat of the emotions. The abdomen is also the seat of intimacy and sexuality, and it is where babies are conceived and develop. So the area of the abdomen is deeply related and interwoven with life on Earth."

Gerrit and Pamela
